OUR DOORS ARE OPEN! – HERE’S HOW WE’RE KEEPING YOU SAFE

As we open our doors, we want to update you on some of our new protocols and changes to make our clinic environment safer for everyone.

Here are a few key changes:

  • All our staff has upgraded their medical outfits to COVID-19 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This includes the receptionists, nurses, medical assistants and doctors.
  • We have lengthened the periods in between the patients’ appointment times to allow for additional cleaning in between patients.
  • Patients will be directed to their examination rooms upon arrival, which have been thoroughly cleaned and sanitized beforehand. However, we have also minimized and spaced out the waiting area for patients who need to sit before being directed to a room.
  • Upon arrival at the clinic, you will be required to fill out a form as a secondary screening for COVID-19. We will also be taking your temperature using a touchless thermometer.

What you can do to ensure your own safety:

  • Please come no more than 5 minutes prior to your appointment to check in, you will be requested to go back and wait in your car if you arrive earlier.
  • Please do not bring anyone else to your appointment (only you can enter). For minors, only ONE accompanying guardian is allowed with them.
  • Please come in with your own mask and use the hand sanitizers available in the clinic.

Hyperhidrosis Stop Excessive Sweating

If you suffer from Hyperhidrosis or excessive sweating, you don’t have to hide this anymore. There is hope. BOTOX in the Treatment of Hyperhidrosis.

Botox is covered by most Insurance companies and approved by Health Canada !

BOTOX works by blocking the chemical signal from the nerve to the target tissue, which in the case of hyperhidrosis is the sweat gland. As the sweat gland is no longer stimulated by the overactive nerve, the sweating stops. Since the drug only works in the area where it is injected, sweat glands in other parts of the body function normally. There is no risk of getting overheated.

BOTOX is highly effective. In a clinical study that involved 240 patients with excessive underarm sweating, 95% of patients responded to the treatment, with an average reduction in sweating of 83% in 1 week. The effect is also long-lasting. On average, each treatment will effectively reduce sweating for 7 months.

BOTOX is very safe. For the treatment of excessive underarm sweating, the only drug-related side effect is a perceived increase in sweating in other parts of the body, which happens in only 4.5% of patients.

  • What is Hyperhidrosis? Hyperhidrosis is the name given to excessive and uncontrollable sweating. It may affect the armpits, palms, soles, face or elsewhere or can be generalized.
  • &nbsp
  • What is the cause of hyperhidrosis ? The exact cause or causes of hyperhidrosis are unknown. It appears to be due to overactivity of the body temperature centre in the brain (the hypothalamus) or of the sympathetic nerves that control the sweat glands.
  • &nbsp
  • What is the result of excessive sweating ? Hyperhidrosis is an embarrassing complaint and significantly interferes with many daily activities.
  • &nbsp
  • Underarm Sweating Clothing becomes damp and unsightly and must be changed several times a day. Wet skin folds are prone to chafing, irritant dermatitis and infection (intertrigo).
  • &nbsp
  • Sweaty Palms and Sweaty Feet It is embarrassing to shake hands and it difficult to write neatly. Damp fingers may cause electronic equipment such as keypads and trackpads to malfunction. Frequent handwashing may result in dermatitis. Sweaty feet develop an unpleasant smell, ruin footwear and are prone to dermatitis or secondary infection.
